Kitchen Design and Elevations

Recently we began work on a project to design a kitchen with an island and complete a full set of elevations with a floor plan. For this project I took an approach of a modern farmhouse design with simple lines and plenty of storage. The wall with the refrigerator will showcase the chosen appliance and also surround it with plenty of storage and some additional lighting over the top. Also featured on the left side is a built in espresso machine, and on the right is a built in microwave. The sink will be centered on a wall containing a large window that is flanked with open shelving. Finally, the third wall contains the range within easy reach of the eat-at island, and will showcase some of the owner's nicer cookware in tall glass front cabinets against the walls. This provides plenty of workspace as well as storage for all the pots, pans, and cooking utensils.

The cabinet style is based on a recent trip to Marsh Kitchen and Bath where the "Nantucket 2" cabinets caught my attention. This style features a bead board accent on the doors and is paired with smooth front drawer units. The hardware is oil rubbed bronze pull handles with doors featuring a square style pull. We were also introduced on this trip to different styles of drawer slides that allow for a cleaner look and more space in the drawer and slow close cabinet hardware that would also be the finishing touches to this kitchen design.

Check out the pictures below that I used for inspiration:
